    • Rinse, wash and dry all cutlery after use. Prolonged contact with the acids found in food and mineral salts found in water can attack the metal and cause pitting and staining
    • Wash silver and stainless steel cutlery separately. If washed alongside
other metals a chemical reaction can occur which can cause discoloration
    • If staining occurs, clean with a stainless steel
cleaner such as ‘Autosol’ (common causes for staining include strong detergents, hard water, hot grease, heat and prolonged immersion in vinegar or condiments).
    •  Remove and hand dry all cutlery as soon as hand washing or machine cycle has finished, especially knife blades.
    • Store cutlery in a damp free environment. A canteen box or anti-tarnish rolls are recommended

Rooted in Sheffield's storied metalworking heritage, David Mellor's design legacy spans decades of innovation and artistry. A classically trained silversmith whose work graces museum collections globally, Mellor founded his workshop in 1973 and later established The Round Building—a purpose-built factory in Derbyshire—to perfect his craft. His design collection embodies this philosophy: contemporary design informed by time-honored techniques, marrying traditional excellence with modern sensibility. Each piece reflects Mellor's commitment to creating cutlery that transcends trends, delivering enduring quality for today's table.
