    General Manager — Beacon, NY


    Little King is seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to oversee our Beacon retail store and in-house e-commerce studio. This role is responsible for daily operations, team leadership, inventory management, and maintaining a professional, organized, and welcoming environment. This is a full-time position, Thursday through Monday, daytime hours, based in Beacon, NY.The General Manager is a key leadership position that requires strong follow-through, clear communication, and the ability to manage people, processes, and priorities in a growing, design-driven business. This role works closely with ownership and serves as a steady, trusted presence for the team.


    Why This Role Exists Now


    Little King has grown steadily over the past few years—expanding our team, our brand partnerships, and our e-commerce presence. As the business continues to mature, we’re creating this General Manager role to bring greater consistency, clarity, and long-term support to our store and studio operations.This role is designed to be a trusted leadership position—someone who can help translate vision into day-to-day rhythm, support the team thoughtfully, and ensure the space runs smoothly as we grow.


    Core Responsibilities


    Store & Studio Operations


    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Beacon store and studio

    • Manage building operations, including maintenance contacts, trash services, and vendor coordination

    • Report maintenance issues to ownership and obtain approval before overseeing repairs or work

    • Ensure monthly scheduled cleanings of all working areas and uphold daily cleanliness standards

    • Maintain an organized, functional, and safe work environment


    Team Leadership & Management


    • Oversee the store and studio team day to day, including scheduling, timeliness, time-off requests, and coverage

    • Assign and delegate daily tasks, particularly during slower periods, to ensure clarity and productivity

    • Coach team members on performance, offering both positive feedback and clear course correction when needed

    • Conduct performance reviews and support ongoing professional development

    • Post open roles and participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff management

    • Set clear standards around professionalism, communication, and accountability


    Visual Merchandising & Space Planning


    • Collaborate with ownership on floor shifts, brand launches, and the evolving visual story of the store

    • Bring forward creative, practical merchandising ideas that balance aesthetics, flow, and sell-through

    • Oversee window concepts and in-store execution, translating vision into clear direction for the team

    • Ensure the store environment feels thoughtful, current, and reflective of the Little King point of view


    Inventory & Vendor Management


    • Delegate and oversee receiving, checking in, and organizing all store inventory

    • Manage inventory reorders using open-to-buy budgets in partnership with ownership

    • Communicate with vendors in a timely, professional manner regarding orders, deliveries, and issues

    • Ensure accurate inventory tracking, organization, and accountability


    Sales, Cash Handling & Reporting


    • Oversee register close-outs, cash handling, and weekly bank deposits

    • Run and review reports for cash reconciliation and sales tracking

    • Provide weekly sales updates to ownership

    • Prepare clear, concise recaps for staff on sales performance, brand updates, and priorities


    Marketing & Community Engagement


    • Support daily social media needs for the Beacon store and studio

    • Develop and maintain a monthly in-store events calendar

    • Create and execute thoughtful, community-focused events that align with the Little King brand

    • Support the sales team through brand education, training sessions, and organized reference materials


    Qualifications


    • 3–5+ years of experience in retail, operations, and store leadership

    • Proven ability to manage teams with professionalism, accountability, and care

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Experience with inventory management and reordering processes

    • Comfortable overseeing both people and operational systems

    • Clear, timely, and respectful communication style

    • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and follow through consistently

    • Appreciation for design-driven retail and independent business environments

    Retail Sales Associate 

    We are looking for team members who are passionate about design and enjoy connecting with customers. As a Sales Associate at Little King, you will provide excellent customer service, offer expert product knowledge, and represent our brand with a positive attitude.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Deliver personalized and authentic customer service, sharing product knowledge and advice
    • Maintain Little King’s visual and operational standards while focusing on the customer experience
    • Assist with daily store operations, including inventory replenishment, shipping orders, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment
    • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

    Requirements:

    • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for extended periods, and communicate with a variety of people
    • (the store is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
