Erik Höglund
Born in 1932, Erik Höglund was a Swedish glass artist, painter, sculptor, and graphic artist from Karlskrona. A rebel in the glass-blowing world, Höglund’s earlier work focused on material experimentations often with human and sculptural forms with enclosed glass bubbles, something unthinkable in glass art at the time. After becoming a core designer at glass manufacturer Kosta between 1953–1973 and having received the Danish Lunning Prize in 1957, his glasses broke sales records and were suddenly found in every home in Sweden. Erik Höglund was an active artist until his death in 1998, and is still one of Sweden's most renowned glass artists. His creations can be found all over the world.
