The Stone Culture of Jeju seems to have developed through agricultural life, which required farmers to even out the bumpy fields caused by stones. As the stones in the field were removed, "field walls" were naturally created, and the stones that were left behind became "mudles." Compared to other stone cultures on Jeju, it is rarely referenced in literature, most likely because it serves no "special function."

We can imagine how many stones there are on Jeju and what Jeju is made of through the mudles that are stacked everywhere despite them serving "no purpose". The shape of the jumble, with its intertwined stones, is also reminiscent of the lives of Jeju islands, who leaned on each other to overcome the harshness of the land and life.
