Maija Isola's classic was born in 1964 after Armi Ratia said publicly that she did not want flowers on Marimekko's fabrics. However, the artist, regardless of limitations, designed a whole collection of flower patterns, which were so unique that Armi bought eight of them. One of the purchases was Unikko, the future icon of icons, who charms and delights with his new colors from season to season.
