For the first time, Eileen Myles, author of Chelsea Girls, opens the doors to their Marfa home—described as a “fortress of solitude.” In a candid conversation, they explore life between Texas and New York, along with reflections on writing, legacy, and loss. Photographs by Cole Barash capture the intimate spaces of their desert retreat.

This issue also includes conversations with artists and filmmakers across disciplines, from Enzo Cucchi and Rosalind Nashashibi to director Rodrigo Sorogoyen, alongside a preview of his upcoming film The Beloved. A special feature highlights the collaborative work of Lucy Orta and Jorge Orta with their son Leo, set within their French studio at Les Moulins.

Elsewhere, reflections on art and memory unfold through Jerry Torre, while a newly translated excerpt from Jina Khayyer traces themes of identity and homecoming. Issue #37 offers a rich collection of personal spaces, creative practices, and thoughtful storytelling from around the world.

About

Apartamento was founded in Barcelona in 2008. Its namesake magazine, published twice yearly and widely considered one of the most influential interiors publications of the past two decades, is rooted in how people actually live: the spaces they inhabit, the food they cook, the work they make, and the conviction with which they build their lives.

Known for its unfiltered, human approach, each issue features long-form conversations with artists, writers, and designers, paired with photography that challenges convention. Beyond print, Apartamento builds community through events, collaborations, exhibitions, and film.

Since 2015, it has also published a wide range of books—including monographs, cookbooks, and photobooks—extending its editorial perspective across art, design, architecture, and visual culture.
