Moomin Haru Pasta Bowl, 8in
The blue and white collection, evoking the atmosphere of the outer archipelago, is an ode to Tove Jansson's life's work. The design of the ceramic dishes is inspired by the island of Klovaharu, where Tove spent her summers. The illustrations are based on the artist's original wreaths, which celebrate the unique nature of the archipelago.
The beautifully understated new collection puts food in the spotlight, and its playful Moomin illustrations will put a smile on your face. The design duo behind the tableware, Finnish-Japanese Naoto Niidome and Finnish-French Nathalie Lautenbacher, were inspired by the shapes of the archipelago. Haru's soft, rounded shapes are reminiscent of rocks and cliffs shaped by the sea. For Finnish-Japanese Niidome and Lautenbacher, who worked in Japan, it was natural to bring Japanese aesthetics to the design.
In Japanese, ‘haru’ means spring.
