This houjicha powder, produced by Masayoshi Koayama at Yamamasa Koyamaen in Uji, is a perfectly balanced expression of roasted green tea—intensely aromatic, gently sweet, with a lingering, soft finish. The roots of Yamamasa Koyamaen trace back to the early 1600s, when the Koyama family began cultivating and producing tea in the Uji region.

Since then, they have spent centuries perfecting the art of Uji tea production. This approachable and exceptional houjicha powder is a reflection of their legacy, leading to the perfect houjicha latte.

How to Prepare:
Always use fresh filtered water.

  • Hot Latte: Whisk 3.5g of powder with 50 ml of hot water until a fine foam appears. Combine with 220ml of steamed milk.
  • Iced Latte: Whisk 3.5g of powder with 50 ml of hot water until fine foam appears. Combine with 150ml of milk over ice.
